Winter
Overview // Cabin Interior // Cabin Exterior // Winter // Keweenaw Peninsula
Winter might be our favorite season at Anam Cara. (note the 5'10" woman behind the drift)
If you're a lover of snow, we've got tons of it! The Keweenaw is the snowiest place in the US east of the Rockies.
Hard to believe that this sugar confection tunnel of snow is major US Higway 41 which starts in Miami and ends a few miles from here in Copper Harbor.
We access the cabin via skis or snowshoes, carrying our supplies in a backpack or sled (or both) for a 0.5 mile trip across frozen Lake Medora.
Sometimes it's a stroll in the park....
...sometimes it's a challenging ski through blizzard conditions....
...but it's always a memorable journey.
And there's nothing as sweet as arriving at our warm, cozy cabin!
